The Mars Volta. What can I say? You either don't understand 'em and hate 'em or you don't understand 'em and love 'em.

Latin-infused prog rock is what you get with "L'Via l'Viaquez." Alternating verses in Spanish and English with Latin percussion over the English lyrics and guitar rock over the Spanish lyrics, which I think is absloutely brilliant. At over 12 minutes, this is certainly one of the longer songs in my list. Its 12 minutes include two guitar solos from John Frusciante, formerly currently formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 4 1/2 minute single edit was included in Guitar Hero World Tour.

The (almost) album version.

The official (inferior) single edit.
